In what could have been a much worse incident, a bus carrying the Williamsport CrossCutters was involved in an accident following a game in Staten Island.

The Williamsport Crosscutters were involved in a bus accident after their game in Brooklyn on Tuesday evening.

The bus collided with an SUV shortly before 11:30 Tuesday night in Staten Island. The crash occured at an intersection.

There were 52 members of the CrossCutters traveling party on the chartered bus when the accident occurred. Williamsport beat Staten Island 7-2 Tuesday night and the bus was headed back to the team hotel following the game. A total of three passengers were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries and later released.

The Crosscutters had little time to recover from the accident and they reported to Brooklyn for a noon-time game against the Brooklyn Cyclones on Wednesday. Williamsport lost that game 3-2.

There were no further details released regarding the accident or injuries, pending an official investigation.
