On the night where the BlueClaws welcomed fan number 5,000,000 through their turnstiles, Lakewood also earned their 800th win in franchise history with a 4-3 win over the Hickory Crawdads.
Chris Duffy's sacrifice fly with the bases loaded and one out in the 8th inning brought home Carlos Perdomo for the go-ahead run in Lakewood's win. The RBI was Duffy's second of the game as he finished 1-for-3 with two RBI.
Ervis Manzanillo struck out a season-high eight batters in six innings but didn't get a decision. He finishes the first-half with an 0-5 record. Mike Nesseth (5-1-2, 3.27) picks up the victory which is his team-leading fifth on the season and Colton Murray locked down the ninth inning for his fourth save.
The BlueClaws and Crawdads will play the third game of a four-game series to conclude the first half of the season. Lakewood will send Colin Kleven (4-5, 3.66) to the mound and he will be opposed by Hickory's Santo Perez (2-5, 6.91) Saturday night.
