First, let me offer an apology for the recent issues with Philly Baseball Insider.
As you may or may not know, we are part of a network which has been undergoing - or planning to undergo - various changes regarding the layout and functions of the sites and message board communities.
Over the past few weeks, the plan has been for that network to morph into the FOXSportsNext.com network of sites. You can imagine that a lot of work goes into such a transition and last week, it was believed that all of the transitional bugs had been adequately worked out and that it was time to launch.
Unfortunately, from the time that the network changes were made, it became apparent that there were issues that remained unresolved. On Monday, the folks at the network decided it was time to back track.
The move was made so that you wouldn't experience ongoing issues when you attempted to use your favorite network sites, including Philly Baseball Insider. Unfortunately, it presents other issues, since any information posted to the site since the launch is now not available on our site. We will attempt to manually move all of the new posts and information back to the original format of the site, but it will take some time for that to happen.
Again, I apologize for all of the inconveniences that you have had to go through. The transition should have been much smoother than it has been and I have let our representatives at the network level know that we are not happy about the current issues.
Personally, I feel that backing off of the launch once it was done was a mistake. Perhaps there would have been better ways to satisfy our network users, but as members of a network, the moves were out of our hands.
So, from here, we are going to go to work on the manual migration of the new posts from the new site to the old site and take a look at where things stand for a long-term approach to keeping our users happy.
We appreciate your loyalty and understanding as we go through this transition period. As always, if you have any concerns, questions or suggestions, do not hesitate to contact me at Chuck@PhillyBaseballInsider.com.
