Jose Dominguez conjures fire, Joc gets a knock but who can explain the magic bat in the fence?
Dodgers Spring Training Notes - 3/18/13
-Picking up the slack were Josh Wall, Peter Moylan, Paco Rodriguez and Shawn Tolleson. Also appearing were minor leaguers Red Patterson and Sean White. Only Tolleson and White were unscathed. Moylan took the brunt of the damage, surrendering 2 runs in an inning of work. Paco gave up a solo home run to D Back's first baseman Paul Goldschmidt.
-Offensively, Carl Crawford led off once again and went 2 for 3, while Adrian Gonzalez supplied two hits of his own, including a double. Dee Gordon reached base safely in both of his plate appearances and stole a base. Matt Kemp went 0 for 3 but threw Miguel Montero out at second base. Minor leaguers Jeremy Rathjen and Chris O'Brien each had a hit after entering the game late.
-Speaking of Crawford, he's clarified that he's been throwing from 75-80 feet and is feeling fine. Also on the injury front, Zack Greinke is scheduled to pitch in Wednesday's game. Josh Beckett was the latest Dodger to come down with the flu. Ted Lilly has also been under the weather, in more ways than one. Not only has he been ill, he's also suffered from rain and hail interrupting his starts. It looks like he won't be in the rotation to start the season.
