Lennerton Shines but Hens Fall (4/11 Recaps)

Jordan Lennerton continued to hit the ball well on Thursday but the Mud Hens fell in their series opener against Louisville 3-1. Lakeland also struggled to drive in runs despite outhitting its opponent by a significant margin. Erie had the day off on Thursday while West Michigan's contest against Bowling Green was postponed due to rain.

Despite a pretty impressive outing on the mound from starting pitcher Casey Crosby Toledo was unable to muster enough run support to top Louisville, falling to the Bats in a 3-1 final. Crosby gave up one run on two hits in four innings to earn his second loss of the season, pushing his ERA to 9.00 in the process. Jordan Lennerton continued his hot streak at the plate, going 1-for-2 while driving in a run and drawing two walks. Nick Castellanos and Bryan Holaday were the only other Mud Hens to get hits in the loss.

High-A Lakeland Flying Tigers
2-5, 6th in North Division

Brevard County 2 1 0

Although Lakeland outhit Brevard County 6-1 on Thursday, the Flying Tigers were unable to top the Manatees, falling in a 2-0 final. Drew VanHagen earned his second loss of the year despite surrendering no earned runs. VanHagen gave up two runs on one hit in six innings of work while striking out four. Reliever Jade Todd didn't give up a hit in two innings of work and also struck out four. No hitter on either team tallied more than one hit in the game.
