The Phillies need for speed drove their first three picks in the 2003 June Draft. Javon Moran was the last of those picks – which actually fell in the fifth round – but Moran has shown himself to be a solid pick that the Phillies believe will mature quickly. While Michael Bourn emerged as the real top pick of the draft and the early favorite, Tim Moss stumbled in his professional debut and Moran was simply consistent and came through with good reviews. | |
