Beau Richardson wasn't the highest touted pitcher to come out of Tulane in 2002. In fact, the Phillies drafted his college teammate Nick Bourgeois a full thirty rounds before they got around to drafting Richardson. True to Phillies history though, Richardson is turning out to be one of those mid-to-late round pitchers that they seem to cultivate into useable members in their organization.

Beau Richardson was born in Maplewood, New Jersey, but his family moved to San Francisco when he was young and that's where he learned his trade.
