Phillies starting pitching is getting downright ugly. For the fourth time in a row, Brett Myers was pounded and didn't even last four innings this time around. The Mets jumped on Myers and the tired Phillies bullpen in a 10-1 route. Steve Trachsel came close to shutting out the Phillies for the second time this season.

After scoring 27 runs in a stunning three-game sweep of the New York Yankees last weekend, the Mets have taken two of the first three games of a four-game set from the Phillies to move within a game of first place in the National League East.

The start of the game was delayed 1 hour and 34 minutes by rain, but Phillies starter Brett Myers (5-6) probably wishes the rain had never stopped. Cliff Floyd, Ty Wigginton and Cameron each hit solo homers in the second inning and Myers allowed three more runs before departing in the fourth inning.

Meanwhile, Steve Trachsel (9-6) was sharp for the Mets, pitching six scoreless innings before yielding a solo homer to Pat Burrell in the seventh.

Myers has allowed 32 earned runs over his last six starts, going 1-3 in that span with a 9.20 ERA.

Cameron added a two-run homer in the fifth inning off reliever Geoff Geary.

Kaz Matsui and Jason Phillips each had three hits and an RBI for New York, which has won six of eight games from the Phillies this season.

The final game of the series if Thursday night when Matt Ginter (1-2, 4.74) goes for the Mets against Kevin Millwood (6-5, 5.07).
