Mitch Graham, R.T. Plumsky and Julian Williams, all members of last year's Gulf Coast League team were injured in a car accident over the weekend.
The jeep they were in was driven by Williams and reportedly rolled, perhaps a few times. Graham was ejected from the vehicle and is hospitalized with a lacerated liver, collapsed lung and a bruised kidney. Graham, who was signed out of Australia, had a chest tube inserted to repair the lung injury.
Plumsky suffered cuts to his head and required staples to close one of the cuts. Williams suffered various cuts and bruises in the accident.
The three, along with Williams' girlfriend, were returning from a night out when the crash occured. Police have ruled out alcohol as a cause of the crash.
Graham, a second baseman and shortstop, hit .283 in the GCL last season with one homerun and 13 RBI. He also stole six bases. Plumsky and Williams are both outfielders. Plumsky hit .295 with six homeruns and 25 RBI for the GCL Phillies, while Williams hit .292 with no homeruns and one RBI in 12 games.
