Scott Franzke comes to the Phillies from the Texas Rangers broadcast team and will take the spot vacated by Tom McCarthy. The Phillies lost McCarthy to the New York Mets earlier in the off-season.

Scott Franzke, a 1994 graduate of Southern Methodist University and former pre and post-game host for the Texas Rangers, was hired by the Phillies to round out their radio broadcast team. The 33 year old Franzke will host the Phillies pre and post-game radio shows and do two innings of play-by-play during Phillies' games this season.

Starting his career as a talk show host with Prime Sports Radio Network, Franzke went on to work for the Kane County Cougars, a class-A affiliate of the Florida Marlins from 1999 to 2001. Franzke also handled sports reporting and broadcasting duties for KRLD radio.

In 2003, Franzke was honored by the Press Club of Dallas for the best play-by-play sportscast.
