The Phillies spent much of the 2003 Draft looking for speed and position players. They didn’t abandon the thought of finding more young pitchers to add to their growing list of prospects though. In fact, in the middle of the draft – the 26th round – the Phillies found a young lefty that was impressive in his inaugural professional season.
