The Phillies were without picks in the first two rounds of the 2003 Draft, because of signing Jim Thome and David Bell as free agents. Because of that, their first pick had to be a good one. They chose Tim Moss out of the University of Texas and his first professional season made the pick look very bad. However, he picked up the pace a little in '04 and there is hope that Moss will start to grow on the Phillies.
