| Biography: |
J.A. Happ is known for being an innings eater. In his final season at Northwestern, he threw 94 innings, including two complete game shutouts in Big Ten competition. In the first of the two shutouts, he blanked Indiana, throwing 126 pitches and allowing just two hits. He closed the season with a shutout against Michigan State, throwing 140 pitches to get the job done.
The Phillies drafted Happ in the third round of the 2004 Draft and assigned him to Batavia. |
