| Biography: |
| Hit his first career grand slam on September 2nd, in a 7-1 win over Washington.
2004
David Bell recovered in a big way from a mysterious back injury in 2003,
hitting .291 with 18 HRs and 77 RBIs and providing some production when Pat
Burrell and Mike Lieberthal struggled. Bell is the most flexible hitter in the
order; he could bat anywhere from fifth to eighth, depending on how the others
in the bottom half of the order are performing.
Career Notes:
Made his major league debut with the Indians in 1995 before being dealt to St.Louis. Came up through the Indians organization with Phillies firstbaseman Jim Thome. The Phillies signed Bell to a four year contract in December of 2002.
