Placed on the DL (hamstring) May 4th.
Kenny Lofton was acquired from the Yankees in the hope that he could
patch up the Phils' woes in center field for a year or two. The 37-year-old
didn't play much for the Yanks (.275, seven SBs in 276 ABs), but two years ago
he hit .296 with 30 SBs as an everyday player for the Pirates and Cubs. The
Phils are hoping he has one more season like that remaining in the tank. |
