| Biography: |
| Traded to the Chicago White Sox for outfielder Aaron Rowand and minor league pitchers Daniel Haigwood and Giovany Gonzalez on November 23, 2005.
Placed on the DL (elbow tendinitis) on July 1st.
Placed on the DL (back) on May 4th.
Jim Thome was plagued by hand injuries for most of last season yet still
managed to rack up 42 HRs and 105 RBIs. However, he struggled with runners in
scoring position, and it can be argued that Rollins and Abreu's big seasons
should have had Thome's RBI total in the 120-130 range. With a pair of healthy
hands the Phils expect Thome to return to the MVP level he was at during the
final four months of 2003. |
