A graduate of Archbishop Carroll High, Costanzo, led Coastal Carolina in batting average (.379), hits (91), runs (74), home runs (16), slugging percentage (.658), on-base percentage (.525), and walks (68) in 2005.
He also led the Big South Conference in batting average, runs, on-base percentage and walks. Costanzo was named the Big South Player of the Year for the second straight season and became the first player in Big South history to earn the honor in back-to-back seasons.
As a senior at Carroll in 2002, he was The Philadelphia Inquirer suburban high school Player of the Year, hitting .529 with 14 home runs and 54 RBIs to spark the Patriots to their second straight Catholic League title. |
