2008 Season
Diaz hit .253 with 93 hits in 367 at-bats with the Lake Elsinore Storm. He collected 11 doubles, three triples, four homers, 69 runs scored, and 37 RBIs. He also drew 31 walks compared to 86 strikeouts while stealing 28 bases in 35 attempts. Diaz reached the Triple-A level with Portland and hit .222 (2-for-9).
2007 Season
Diaz hit .277 with 130 hits in 469 at bats for the Fort Wayne Wizards. In 117 games he had 14 doubles, six triples, seven homers, 36 RBIs and a team leading 67 runs scored. He drew 46 walks compared to 103 strikeouts and stole a system leading 31 bases in 45 attempts.
2006
Diaz hit .262 with 27 hits in 103 at bats for the Lake Elsinore Storm from April 24-June 5. In 31 games he had two triples, four RBI's and 13 runs scored. He also drew 14 walks and struck out 20 times. In a stint with Fort Wayne in mid-summer, Diaz hit .206 (34-for-111). In 27 games he collected three doubles, one triple, seven RBI and scored 20 runs. He also walked 14 times and whiffed 34 times, while going 8-of-9 on stolen base attempts.
2005 Season
Diaz hit .352 in 39 games for the AZL Padres, where he notched 51 hits to lead the team and had five doubles, six triples and two homers. Diaz knocked in 24 and scored 22, adding 19 stolen bases in 24 attempts. His .425 OBP led the team, among players who appeared in more than five games. Diaz also hit .211 in five games with the Ems late in 2005.
