How he became a Phillie
Drafted by the Phillies in the ninth round of the 1998 Draft. After signing a series of one-year deals, Madson agreed to a three-year, $12 million deal with the Phillies on January 19, 2009.
2008 Season
Posted a 3.05 ERA for the second straight season, serving as the setup man for closer Brad Lidge. Madson pitched in 76 games for the Phillies and another 11 games in the post-season, where he went 3-0 with a 2.13 ERA.
