| Biography: |
| Lieby was drafted by the Phillies in the first round of the June 1990 Draft as the third overall pick. In 1999, Lieberthal appeared in his first all-star game in Boston. Unfortunately, Lieberthal has been held back somewhat by injuries throughout his career, including knee surgery that sidelined him for a chunk of the 2002 season. He also underwent off-season knee surgery before the 2003 season and had a recurrence of a pelvic injury in spring training of 2003. |
