SP Kyle Kendrick: Pitches complete game, but takes the loss.

Kyle Kendrick Profile

Kyle Kendrick was his own worst enemy Tuesday night. On one hand, he pitched a great game against Norfolk, going nine innings and needing just 106 pitches. On the other hand though, he made two errors, one that resulted in two late runs for the Tides and led to Lehigh Valley's 3-1 loss.

Kendrick, who is 4-5, 2.77 for Lehigh Valley, allowed just six hits and two walks. He collected just one strikeout, but 21 of the 27 outs that he recorded came on ground balls, helped by four double-play grounders.

Ironically, the last time that Kendrick threw a complete game was the outing before the Phillies added him to their roster to make his major league debut.
