SP Andrew Carpenter: Heads to Phillies bullpen.

Andrew Carpenter Profile

Andrew Carpenter, who picked up his first major league win earlier this season, is back in the majors, along with Tyler Walker. Carpenter and Walker got the call when the Phillies were forced to place both Chad Durbin and J.C. Romero on the DL.

Carpenter has been in the starting rotation at Lehigh Valley and made one start for the Phillies back in May, but will pitch out of the bullpen for the Phillies. Walker was just sent back to Lehigh Valley when Clay Condrey came off the DL. Walker was designated for assignment by the Phillies, who had to repurchase his contract from the IronPigs.

Durbin went on the DL with a strained right latissimus and Romero has a strained left forearm.
