SP Kyle Kendrick: Steven Register recalled by Phils.

Kyle Kendrick, who had a one-day stint with the Phillies earlier this season, is back with the big league club. Kendrick will work out of the bullpen, which has been retooled thanks to injuries to Chad Durbin, J.C. Romero and now, Clay Condrey.

Steven Register, who was pitching at Triple-A Lehigh Valley, had his contract purchased by the Phillies to fill another spot in the major league bullpen. Register pitched in the majors with Colorado in 2008, giving up ten earned runs in ten innings of work. At Lehigh Valley this season, he was 1-2 with five saves and a 2.88 ERA in 20 relief appearances.

Durbin and Romero were placed on the DL earlier in the week and Condrey went on the DL Saturday with a strained oblique. The Phillies also optioned Andrew Carpenter back to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Biography:
How he became a Phillie
Drafted by the Phillies in the seventh round of the 2003 Draft.

2009 Season
Recalled from Lehigh Valley on June 12, after going 4-4, 4.03 in 12 starts with the IronPigs... Made one relief appearance with the Phillies (2 IP, 3 ER, and a loss) against Boston and was optioned back to Lehigh Valley... The Phillies then recalled Kendrick again on July 25... Kendrick pitched 3 1/3 scoreless innings in Philadelphia, but was optioned back to Lehigh Valley on August 12.

2008 Season
Spent the season with the Phillies and went 11-9, 5.49 in 30 starts... Was left off the post-season roster after struggling late in the season.

2007 Season
Started the season at AA Reading and went 4-7, 3.21 in 12 starts before being called up to the Phillies and making his major league debut on June 13th... Went 10-4, 3.87 in 20 starts for the Phillies.
