Freddy Galvis Profile

Freddy Galvis, generally thought to be the best shortstop prospect in the Phillies organization, was promoted to Double-A Reading. In 47 games at Clearwater this season, Galvis hit .247.

Galvis missed almost two months after having surgery to fix a broken finger in early May.

The switch-hitting Galvis is hitting .271 against right-handers and just .186 against southpaws this season.

Reading had an open roster spot because of Carlos Leon's promotion to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
