SP Brett Myers: Looks ready to return to Phillies.

Brett Myers didn't leave much to the imagination as to whether or not he is ready to return to the majors. In his sixth rehab appearance and the first coming on back-to-back nights, Myers needed just eight pitches to record a 1-2-3 inning against the heart of the Syracuse Chiefs lineup.
Six of Myers' eight pitches were for strikes and he ended the inning with a three-pitch strikeout of Leonard Davis.
Earlier in the day, both manager Charlie Manuel and GM Ruben Amaro Jr. said that they expected Myers to join the club when they start a trip to Houston on Friday.
Manuel didn't want to commit to a specific relief role for Myers when he joins the club. Instead, Manuel will want to see how effectively he can pitch before locking him into a particular role.
"We know what he can do," Manuel said. "We're looking to see the same stuff that he did that stuff with before."
